Golf Instruction
Jake Hanson, Head PGA Professional:
Growing up in Western Washington, Jake picked up the game of golf at the young age of 4, competing across the state in junior golf events and throughout his high school years. After enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 2004, Jake graduated from Washington State University and was commissioned as an officer in 2006, where he served as a Platoon Commander, Executive Officer, and Assistant Battalion Operations Officer for the 3rd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment in Southern California. After completing tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Jake separated from the Marine Corps in 2010 after achieving the rank of Captain. Following his military service, Jake completed the Golf Professional Management program at the Golf Academy of America in Arizona, graduating as the valedictorian of his class.
Upon returning to Washington, Jake spent 5 seasons at Sand Point Country Club as the Lead Assistant Professional, where in 2014, he became a PGA Certified Professional after earning a certificate in Golf Operations, an achievement that only 2 percent of PGA’s 30,000 members have earned. After leaving Sand Point Country Club, Jake worked at Alderbrook Golf and Yacht Club and Mill Creek Country Club before his final years in Washington, spent as the Head Professional at Inglewood Golf Club before assuming his current role as the Director of Golf at Rio Verde Country Club, a private 36-hole club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Jake is grateful for the opportunity to continue the legacy and incredible lineage of Professionals in Crane Creek’s history and can’t wait to dive in with the best membership in all of Idaho. He and his wife Jill, and two daughters Tenley (8) and Mila (6) are ecstatic to settle in the Boise area and become active within the community.
